This is by far the best place near Chatsworth we have stayed. Warm to the feet and warm to the heart. A lovely welcome to us and our small dog, in stunning surroundings. Highly recommended. - Caroline Hart.

Accommodation

Self-catering and B&B accommodation is available at The Lodge - the choice is yours.

Overlooking a courtyard with ducks, chickens, peacocks and a traditional 2 storey stable block on one side and open fields, sheep and a babbling brook on the other, The Lodge is a stone built former milking parlour set within the grounds of this fine Grade II listed Derbyshire long house.

The Lodge has recently been lovingly restored to an exceptionally high standard. It has a large open plan lounge with sofa and TV, a dining area and shower room. Under floor heating throughout.

Whether you opt for Self Catering or Bed & Breakfast you get unrestricted private access to the entire Lodge.  In the case of B&B the breakfast is served to you in the dining area of The Lodge. B&B guests may also use the kitchen facilities as they wish to prepare other meals during their stay. The bedroom has an antique double bed with down duvet and feather pillows romantically lit by a crystal chandelier. Decorated throughout with fine furnishings and historical colours.

There is ample parking and secure indoor space for bikes.  Well behaved dogs are welcome. We also have 4 stables suitable for horses. Please contact us for futher details.

The gardens at Dale End House are a haven for wildlife.  Woodpeckers and Long Tailed Tits are daily visitors through the winter and spring.  There are Brown Hares in the fields above the house and Badgers in the dale. In the summer Spotted Flycatchers return each year and nest in the stable beside The Lodge. In the early evening there's a good chance of seeing a Barn Owl too!  We would love to tell you where the best places to see them are.
